Wild Ink
Tucked away on the 5th floor of Hudson Yards, Wild Ink is not your average New York City dining spot. With its modern Asian-inspired menu and jaw-dropping interiors, this place brings serious style and flavor to Manhattan’s West Side. If you're looking for a place that’s as photogenic as it is flavorful, Wild Ink delivers on both fronts.
The restaurant sits at 500 W 33rd St, and while the address might sound formal, the vibe is anything but. Think sleek wood paneling, dramatic lighting, and floor-to-ceiling windows that offer sweeping views of the city skyline. Whether it’s a casual dinner or a special night out, this spot has the kind of atmosphere that turns a meal into an experience.
But let's talk food. Wild Ink’s menu is a global journey with a bold Asian twist—think Korean-style fried chicken, dim sum with a modern spin, and inventive cocktails that pack a punch. The chefs play with textures, flavors, and presentation, turning each dish into a conversation starter. And for those who love a good sushi roll or crave dumplings done right, this is a haven worth visiting.
The open kitchen adds a layer of energy, letting diners catch a glimpse of the magic as it happens. It’s one of those rare places where the ambiance, food, and service all click in harmony. Plus, the curated wine list and mixologist-led bar scene make it a solid pick whether you're starting the night or ending it on a high note.
Wild Ink blends bold design, creative cuisine, and urban energy into a seamless whole. It’s not just about eating—it’s about experiencing the essence of New York through a stylish, globally inspired lens.
Reviews
Wild Ink exemplifies customer service! Our reservation was for five people, but when an additional two showed up, they were great to make alternative seating assignments so we would be comfortable. It was very obvious that our comfort was priority to them. Most of the tables are round-with seating like a booth or with chairs around them-very comfortable and great for groups. Our larger group sat at a rectangle table to give us more space. The food was beautifully presented and artistically created. Several folks ordered the chef's choice of sushi. I considered it, but opted for the chicken instead. When the sushi came out I was glad with my choice. I don't like the raw fish, which is what it all was. But it sure looked nice! One of my favorite things about this restaurant is the gender neutral bathrooms. They are lavish and clean, although the lighting was a little too dim for my taste. I'd like to be able to see myself in the mirror to freshen up a bit. This is a place I'd likely return to.
Wild Ink is perfect for a romantic dinning experience with the Edge being in the background - I highly recommend coming here during sunset, you will be amazed by the scenic pictures you can take from here. Food wise, I loved the fun Asian fusion dishes - grasping the core of the original dishes yet put a artistic spin onto it. Service was friendly and fast. Recommend :)
This place is pretty overpriced but it has nice views and the food is surprisingly good, albeit a bit salty. I came here as a group of 5 and made a reservation for 5:30 for 4. They were super accommodating when i asked to add one additional person, since most of the seating is booth-like. We ordered the peking duck, grilled octopus, crispy beef dumplings, kung pao chicken wings, lobster prawn hargow, shishito peppers, edamame, and a side of broccoli. Crispy beef dumplings: They do not look like dumplings but taste pretty good. It looks like a ball with (maybe?) an outer shell of fried mochi (or at least that's what it tasted like). I misjudged this dumpling by its look because it was quite delicious. Grilled octopus: Pretty solid, comes with some mini potatoes, a little salty. Kung pao chicken wings: Delicious. Again, a little salty, but the wings were perfectly crispy and made very well. lobster prawn hargow: A little underwhelming in taste but they gave us some chili oil on the side (definitely tasted like lao gan ma) and that changed the game. Peking duck: took a while to come out but this was delicious! the sauce was salty and the toppings for the peking duck definitely made me think "oh this is asian fusion". The buns/wrappers for peking duck were thin scallion pancakes (surprisingly good!) and the actual peking duck was cooked so well. Highly recommend, and it was a very large serving (although pretty expensive at 95$). Vegetables: Loved the shishito peppers, broccoli and edamame were solid (not sure how you can mess this up). Again, sodium overload but that seems to be a theme. overall, this place is a surprise hit. It's beautiful and the drinks are cute too. Definitely try it out if your at hudson yards.
I went to Wild Ink again and it did not disappoint. They updated their menu so I figured I'll update my review. The food was again amazing and I highly recommend the calamari which was perfect and paired well with the chili sauce, the beef dumplings, and the strip loin which was also cooked perfectly. There is a lazy susan incorporated into the table which makes it really easy to pass around appetizers and eat family style with your table which I love. Everything was pretty great but we didn't really enjoy the scallops portioning and the roasted fingerling potatoes side was interestingly seasoned unlike the potatoes served with the strip loin which were great. The service was great though sometimes hard to capture the attention of the server. I highly recommend that you get a reservation around sunset so you can enjoy the sunset view of the river and the vessel. Also Wild Ink please see this as my petition to bring back fried chicken to the dinner menu.
I brought my sister here for an early dinner while she was in town visiting. It's definitely a place you need to make reservations for, especially during the weekend, as it gets really busy. Inside is really sexy and has great views. The service is awesome and the food is even better. I have never tasted crab rangoon this good! It was loaded with crab meat and bursting with flavor. We hope they reopen so we can come back!!!
